it’s beginning to look a lot like christmas

Gifts

i’ve gotten quite a bit of christmas shopping done for the boys. and my parents are completely finished. since the boys can’t read, i thought it would be fun to let you in on what they’re getting so far … and ask for a few suggestions.

my parents went crazy with the boys’ current toy story obsession! they are both getting the big talking buzz and the big talking woody (they will be soooo excited) as well as mr. potato head, mrs. potato head and some toy story cowboy boots. fun!

we got them each a tag junior reading system plus one tag book each (thomas and toy story), a bunch of regular books (mommy needs to change up her nighttime story telling), a few thomas trains, some dishes and some art supplies.

we still need to get stuff from santa. any ideas? we’d love to have something big on christmas morning that wasn’t there the day before—like bikes, except i don’t think the boys are ready for bikes just yet (tripper does. are they??). we already have three riding toys each, so i don’t think we should go that route. what other big thing could we tell santa to bring? also what should we tell santa to stuff their stockings with? ideas?

  1. ooohhhh…you’re good! I’ve done a lot of shopping but NO wrapping. I’m not sure I can offer much in the way of suggestions for toys for boys especially since Alex and Max already have a train table, ride-ons, art easel, kitchen…How about a tent (the girls got one last year)? Doesn’t have to be too expensive and we only set it up on rainy days, extermely hot/cold days and it has been a HUGE hit!…or a trampoline, or some type of climbing/slide toy for the yard, or a DRUM SET!! or a trunk of dress up clothes…train conductor, fireman, doctor, etc. I’m trying to think of some of the "big" toys my nephews have gotten, but that’s all I can come up with that y’all might not (???) already have.

  2. do they have any POWERED wheels? i’ve seen the thomas the train one that is age appropriate.soccer net + ballwork benchbasketball goal (petite sized!)slide in the backyardplayhousesandbox

  3. Try the Balance bike. As much as you guys are outside in your neighborhood they would be great. The boys learn to balance without worrying about pedaling just yet. Deacon loves his.

  4. Santa is bringing Hudson a "Skuut" balance bike. I have watched my friend’s son love his and it comes in an all wood version that’s so cute!

  5. We got the Tag Jr. system, too. Can’t wait to see them with it. Also got them each the Leapfrog, My First Leaptop. We got them each a Radio Flyer My First Scooter (Rowan’s in pink). I know you said they have enough ride on toys, and we do to, but I thought this would be a fun change up.
