the sun was out and the hats were on so we figured we’d take the boys down to chastain park today to see the horsies. they did not disappoint (the boys or the horses). it must have been excercise day or something because we got to see a lot of horses run ’round the ring. alex wanted to hug them all. max not so much, but he did have a good time!
“i see, maxie!”
we started out true cowboys in our hats and, um, crocs and, um, puffer vests?
but then the chill settled in and we opted for last-year’s coat over our puffers. tight fit, but cozy warm!
and doing his best billy the kid.
alex was fearless.
he marched right into the stables. he soooo wanted to ride a real horse. and, good kid that he is, he settled for, well, i’m not sure what this guy is used for—anyone?
cowboy alex. in true cowboy fashion he kept pulling down his hat brim. i kept expecting him to spit and then call me ma’am.
i love these next two pictures. alex has such a soft look about him, even all cowboyed up.
max gets serious. he much preferred watching the horses in the pen better than getting up close with them in the stables.
alex, on the other hand, wanted in!
telling gordon and spencer’s tender all about the horses.
watching horses get groomed.
giddy up, alex!
and finally … the horses!
